Wates seeks suppliers for Essex schools

10 Nov 15 Wates Construction is holding a supplier engagement event for subcontractors interested in working on its school building projects.

Contractors from around Barking, Dagenham and Newham are invited to meet Wates Construction purchasers to learn about details of three projects in the area, together worth £65m.

The event is being held on the morning of Monday 16th November 2015 at the CEME Conference Centre in Rainham (RM13 8EU).

Wates Construction has recently been selected for the refurbishment of Eastbury and Eastbrook schools as well as the construction of the new Little Ilford Secondary School.

Little Ilford is a new 1,525 pupil secondary school that started on site in May 2015 and is due for completion July 2017.

At Eastbury Comprehensive School, Wates is building a new two-form entry primary school, and a teaching block extension to the existing secondary school. This will result in total pupil numbers of 2,246. The primary school is scheduled to complete in September 2016 and the secondary school in February 2017, with overall completion in July 2017.

At Eastbrook Comprehensive School, Wates is building a new three-form entry primary school for 630 pupils and two secondary schools (East & Brook). When complete in October 2017, total pupil numbers will be 2,279.
