Welsh contractor in administration
Wrexham-based Barnhill Construction Ltd is in administration, with the loss of 35 jobs.
Established in 1991, the contractor took on building and civil engineering projects up to £5m in value and also had a steel fabrication division.
Clients ranged from Redrow Homes and John Sisk to Kellogs and Cadbury’s. One of its larger projects was the construction of a £3.2m power plant in Deeside for UPM Kymmene.
Administrators from the Manchester office of Grant Thornton were appointed to take over the company’s affairs on 3 April.
