WSP bolsters building services team

1 Jul 14 Hyder Consulting director Andrew Henderson has joined WSP as operations director of its UK building services business.

At WSP Mr Henderson will report to Philippe Honnorat, UK head of building services. Matt Hann will now be responsible for managing new business opportunities in building services.

WSP was taken over by Canadian engineering firm Genivar for £278m in 2012. Genivar rebranded as WSP Global at the start of this year.

The strengthening of the building services team is part of a UK-wide push by WSP to take on 600 new employees by the end of 2014. Other recent appointments in the building services team’s regional leadership include:

  • Scotland: Graeme Bruce and Garry Calder are now in charge of the team in Edinburgh.
  • Cambridge: Kevin Smith is now supported by Alastair Macfarlane who has moved from London to strengthen WSP’s building services presence in the east of England.
  • Leeds: Derek Devereaux has joined from Arup to lead the WSP Leeds team.
  • London: associate Colin Henderson (no relation) has joined from Cundall.

Philippe Honnorat, head of building services said, “Our building services business is in a great position with the arrival of Andrew as part of the first class team we are assembling.
