Canary Wharf Group has been granted planning consent for another 65,000m2 office tower on the Isle of Dogs. The 28-storey block has been designed by architect Kohn Peterson Fox Associates. It will be built on the spit of land that used to be called Heron Quay, on the south side of Canary Wharf, but is now called Bank Street.

WSP was the engineer for the Shard as well as New York’s Freedom Tower. It is currently working on several London tower blocks including 22 Bishopsgate and Meridian Gate.

Project director Richard Gubbins said: “This is another significant win for our high rise team here in London. Our building services team alone are involved in several buildings comprising over one million square feet in London, and this high profile project win for a well-respected client cements our position as one of, if not the best engineer for tall buildings in London and the UK.”
