The SPS requires a contractor to design and build Phase II of the replacement prison at Shotts, Lanarkshire. The SPS will provide an initial design (RIBA Stage D) for this purpose. The design and build contract for HMP Shotts Phase I was awarded in 2008 to Carillion Construction Limited. The construction of Phase I is underway and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2011. Detailed planning permission for the entire redevelopment (incorporating Phase 1 and Phase 2) has already been obtained. Applicants will be required to submit a pre-qualification questionnaire (e-copies of which are available via the Public Contracts Scotland website.
