Description: 28th May 2014: A new rail bridge is launched over the Great Western Main Line as part of preparations for Crossrail trains to run to and from Heathrow. Two hydraulic jacks pushed the 1,000-tonne bridge into place, helped by 20 wheels and special Teflon sheets to minimise friction resistance. Main contractor is Carillion.
