Assessor / Trainer in Wood

Job Description

Protocol are currently recruiting for a Assessor / Trainer in Wood for a fantastic group of colleges in Buckinghamshire! Last rated as GOOD by Ofsted in 2013, this successful group is looking to bolster their Vocational department by recruiting an experienced assessor / trainer in Wood Occupations. There is a requirement to travel to 3 different campuses that are a part of the group, travel between sites is covered at a rate of 40p per mile. Role responsibilities
*Assess and train Wood Occupations between levels 1 and 3
*Be primarily responsible for the recruitment of employers for apprentice placements and ensure that they are aware of their training obligations.
*To attend relevant employer and sector networking groups to raise the profile of the College and the provisions available.
*To recruit appropriate learners for Training e.g. Apprenticeships.
*To follow recruitment procedures for learners and ensure that effective initial assessment, advice and guidance is carried out.
*Direct the delivery and where appropriate assessment of training. Ensure timely completion of qualifications, develop portfolios and support the embedding of Functional Skills, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values.

The person & qualifications
*Experience in training or assessing Wood Occupations at levels 1-3
*Level 3 Qualification in relevant subject is essential
*Must have a recognised Assessors award
*IQA Qualification or a willingness to achieve in post
*Teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve in post
*Excellent knowledge of current occupational standards in the relevant area of work
*Excellent knowledge of current best practice in the occupational area including Health and Safety legislation.
*Successful, relevant and current experience in the occupational sector
*Successful experience of assessing for NVQs and Apprenticeships
