Mechanical Technician

Job Description

Protocol are working with a leading FE College based in the West London area. It is a very well-established College graded as "Outstanding" by Ofsted. Our client currently has an exciting opportunity to join them on a permanent basis as a Mechanical Technician starting as soon as possible.

Role responsibilities
To ensure general maintenance and undertake simple repairs for the equipment within the Mechanical Engineering Section.
working 28.8 hours per week
To provide assistance to lecturers in preparing equipment and resources for teaching and learning, be responsible for maintaining tool and equipment to an efficient level and carry out risk assessments and recommend improvements to ensure all aspects of health and safety are complied with.
Motivating students to excel in their subject area
The person & qualifications
Ability and willingness to learn and use mechanical test equipment e.g. for material testing, fluid mechanics, mechanical principles
Have a minimum of a L2 in a relevant subject
Must be enthusiastic and inspiring to learners
Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or within 12 months (or be willing to apply for one)
