Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

Job Description

Our Client is one of the leading suppliers of cast stone, including semi-dry cast stone, wet cast stone and glass fibre reinforced concrete for UK residential and commercial construction projects, in addition to supplying other more general sectors of the precast market. As a result of continued growth and larger contract size, they are increasingly winning orders on supply agreement and subcontract formats. They are now urgently seeking, to recruit a n Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The position will be a permanent role with an excellent salary package commensurate with experience.

Candidate: 10+ years of experience in civil engineering contracting, ideally with knowledge of Cast Stone and Architectural Precast. Supply or supply / install packages. Must possess a detailed knowledge of dealing with NEC contract form and have an ability to run commercial management of multiple projects including:

* Valuations
* Variations / compensation evens
* EWNs
* Disputes and resolution, with proven experience in successful outcomes
* Contract Correspondence
* Adjudication

Key Skills

* Self Starter and ability to work alone
* Excellent communicator, both oral and written
* High degree of competence in Excel, MS Project
* Ability to read and understand drawings and technical details
* Team worker with strong leadership skills

The successful candidate will be based at our clients premises near Retford although some travel to UK site will be required. The potential to grow into a senior / leadership role would be an advantage.
