Railhead Operative

Llandudno Junction, North Wales

Full-time, permanent position

Breedon are currently seeking a Railhead Operative at our rail loading facility at Llandudno Junction, North Wales. You will work alongside the Railhead Supervisor and your key responsibility will be to drive the loading shovel, to load aggregates produced from quarries within the North Wales region. Other responsibilities will include:

Daily and weekly inspections

Loading shovel ticket

Carrying out minor maintenance jobs

Safe loading of rail wagons

Assisting contractors when required

Liaising with the quarries so material is at the railhead in time for loading

Office work/record keeping, and inducting of contractors

Flexible working will be required.

The ideal candidate will be IT literate and have experience working with rail loading equipment. A PTS or safe working near rail and valid first aid qualification would be advantageous but full training will be given.
