JOB DESCRIPTION:

SMSTS Site Manager required for a large nationwide family run business that specialises in Industrial projects. Our client is looking for experienced and hardworking site manager to join a project based in Kingstanding.

This labourer contract will be ongoing, with hours being 7:30 - 4:30, Monday-Friday and the option to work overtime at the weekends.

Daily responsibilities will include:

    * Knowledge of building and construction
    * Leadership qualities
    * Time management skills
    * Excellent verbal communication skills
    * Ability to problem-solve and use your initiative.
    * Updating of Operational Planner
    * Attendance to weekly operational and financial update meetings
    * Overseeing the logistical requirements of a project
    * Delegating work to colleagues within your team
    * Meeting regularly with clients, third parties and other managers to report on progress
    * Setting targets, objectives and responsibilities for all supervised staff
    * Regularly reviewing timings, budget, labour, risk and project plans to ensure work stays on track
    * Setting and agreeing budgets
    * Conducting site visits to inspect work, check materials and ensure staff are following health and safety guidelines
    * Dealing with contracts and mitigating the impact of any issues
    * Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales
    * Working in an office and on a construction site.
    * Planning, scheduling and coordinating the project strategy and design, reporting progress and budget matters to the client
    * Preparing Programmes for client and operational use
    * Managing the construction process, responding to delays
    * On Major Works - Collaborating with specialists such as architects, engineers and local government officials for permits and licences, contractors and clients
    * Complying with legal requirements, safety and building codes
    * Ordering equipment and materials, managing their use and managing the personnel involved
    * Hiring and instructing contractors
    * Ability to multi-task and handle multiple construction projects, meet tight deadlines and coordinate with other Construction Managers on the job
    * Understand construction technologies and methods, interpret contracts and technical drawings and read blueprints, up-to-date building codes and construction practices
    * Strong analytical mind for cost management
    * SMSTS Mandatory
    * Forming RAMS for each site specific project
    * Management of KPI control throughout contracts

Requirements for the role

  • A valid SMSTS Card
  • CSCS Card
  • Industrial experience
  • The ability to perform physical manual labour
  • Own PPE - High vis vest, safety glasses, gloves, dust mask and hard hat can be provided by Daniel Owen
  • Own tools NOT required
