Assistant Asphalt Plant Manager (Ref: 9725)

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Asphalt Plant Manager to effectively supervise and coordinate all site operations at our Westleigh plant. About the role You will assist with the management of the plant for the safe, efficient, cost-effective production and despatch of quality assured asphalt within agreed financial targets. Elements to the role include: Ensure that all aspects of the asphalt plant operation are carried out in accordance with the requirements of all statutory legislation and the Aggregate Industries Health and Safety, Environmental and quality processes Control the environmental impact of asphalt plant operations to the practical minimum with due regard to Aggregate Industries policies Implement and review operational procedures, risk assessments and procedures when necessary Ensure that all plant and equipment is subject to planned maintenance to maintain its safe worthy condition, in order to optimise plant availability and efficiency within operational budgets Motivate, lead and train all depot personnel as required and encourage continuous improvement Maintain records of sickness, holidays etc. Ensure adequate stocks of all raw materials and fuels by means of accurate stock and measurements and pre-empt liaison with the sales department sand production planning What will you bring? Previous work in industry, preferably in a supervisory capacity Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others Experience in operating fixed and mobile plant A knowledge of Health and Safety and the appreciation of the legal and company responsibility regarding Health and Safety and the environment Understanding of budgets and financial responsibility Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities Understanding of basic maintenance and PPM What’s on offer?
