Distribution Coordinator - Temp Contract

Breedon are currently seeking a Distribution Coordinator to coordinate deliveries of aggregates and asphalt in a busy market. You will be based at Leaton Quarry near Telford, Shropshire.

This role is temporary, with an expected duration of 12 months.

The key accountabilities of the role are:

Telephone and email contact to and from customers

Timely response to customers' enquiries, queries and complaints in an efficient and professional manner

Proactive planning and tracking orders to completion

Cost effective dispatch planning of all customer orders through active liaison with commercial, operations and transport teams

Scheduling and rescheduling orders whilst utilising haulage fleet effectively

Compiling and maintaining accurate records as required

Communicating effectively with commercial and production teams and also haulage partners

Specific support to the pre-planning of major contracts or schemes in terms of production and transport capacity planning

Identifying and contributing to managing your own personal development in collaboration with your line manager

The key skills required for this role are:

Excellent customer service skills

The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to a high level of accuracy

Excellent IT knowledge

Ability to work under pressure with and be adaptable in a fast-changing environment

A good eye for detail with excellent written and communication skills

Ability to work with a small team

Be able to work on own initiative, but also to take direction when required

You will be required to be flexible in the hours that you work, as the role will involve working some Saturdays, some 6am starts and some nights (up to midnight).

We are looking for a professional, experienced Distribution Coordinator who can demonstrate knowledge of road haulage. You will be an excellent communicator and be a proactive self-starter who can build effective relationships both with colleagues and customers.

Previous experience working in aggregates and/or asphalt markets is desirable though not essential as training will be given. A good familiarity of the local geography is desirable.
