Depot Operative

Job Description

Depot Operative based at our Cement Depot in Walsall.

Breedon are currently seeking a Depot Operative based at our Breedon Walsall Cement & Aggregates Depot - WS1

The Role and Responsibilities:

  • The efficient day-to-day operation of the bulk storage and outloading plant.
  • Rail offloading.
  • The collection and analysis of production samples.
  • Regular checks and record keeping in regard to health, safety and environment legislation and for local permit requirements.
  • General cleaning and housekeeping duties, and first line maintenance duties.
  • Liaise with the Admin supervisor on warehouse issues.
  • We are looking for candidates with some mechanical and/or electrical background.
  • ensure that the operation meets the customer service requirements by completing each function to the highest standards.
  • To handle all aspects of Depot Operations, maintaining / operating the equipment.
  • To check documentation and physically check loads before departure.
  • To carry out general housekeeping and stocktaking to ensure that the profile of the site is maintained to the very highest standard.

The Person:

  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working within a production environment.
  • Safety is our number one priority and you should be able to demonstrate a proven and positive health and safety record including the ability to assess documents and mitigate risk.
  • To be responsible for Health and Safety of themselves and the other team members by adhering to safe working practices.
