Job Description

The Company and the Role: The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects. The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton. It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of Document Controller. This is a senior position which will be part of the project management team and the company is looking to appoint a person quickly before the likely start date for the project which is around mid - July and will last for around 8 months. Key Features of the Role: As the Document Controller your expertise will be in the area of transmitting documents to-from Client, archiving engineering drawings and documents. Working in conjunction with the Site Engineers to complete document number requests, archiving and filing of hardcopies and scanning documents as required. Inputting data into a document management system and liaising with the client and other departments, giving recommendations as required. Perform quality checks on Engineering and Supplier deliverables (doc number, title, revision, date etc.) comply with project requirements. Report deficiencies to Senior Managers. Confirm existence and ensure suitability as well as accuracy of Master Document Registers (MDRs), Supplier Master Document Registers (SMDRs), and Document Distribution Matrixes (DDMs) and upgrade and maintain as required to meet project document management needs. Ensure contractor and supplier documentation deliverables meet contract requirements by performing quality checks for compliance and initiating corrective actions and report. Utilise your skills as a Document Controller to report progress on completion of deliverables, issue look ahead, and overdue reports and actively participate in project meetings and anticipate information management needs. Promote and provide general assistance of all aspects of document control activities. Follow hazard elimination program (HELP). Knowledge and Skills Required: Ideally an accomplished Document Controller with construction site experience. Experienced in general office procedures and a good understanding of document control practices. Ideally you will have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company. Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel. What’s on Offer? £25,200 - £30,000 pro rata on a temporary worker basis. (Possibly more for an exceptional candidate) Overtime is a possibility Minimum Holidays are expected to be taken from mid- July to November unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
