Our London Partnerships Division to be located in Dartford is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join the Division’s Senior Management Team. London Partnerships Established in 2018 Bellway London Partnerships is a specialist Division of Bellway Homes Ltd, which operates across the capital, and runs alongside our existing established house building Divisions. The business has its own unique brand within Bellway. The business is an appointed member of the Mayor’s London Developer Panel and capitalises on our strong working relationship and track record with London’s leading RP’s, public sector bodies and PRS funds. It specialises in regeneration and joint venture developments. It has a varied portfolio of sites in the pipeline and including high and low rise schemes which will deliver private, affordable and build to rent homes. Bellway Partnerships is the primary delivery vehicle for Bellway Homes at Barking Riverside which includes a pipeline of over 3,000 homes being drawn down in phases from the Barking Riverside Ltd. Fielders Quarter obtained planning for 360 units in March 2019 and is now on site with the first homes due to be completed from summer 2020. The Role The role of Finance Manager will drive the financial performance and position of the Division’s business and is a key member of the Division’s senior management team, supporting the Regional Director achieve the agreed business plan and sustainable, profitable growth. The Finance Manager will have a broad level of operational knowledge to enable critical review and challenge of key decisions and information across all of the Division’s disciplines. There is a new role and there is an opportunity for progression if the chosen candidate demonstrates their ability to successfully carry out the role and a high level. The role of Finance Manager reports to the Division’s Regional Director and Group’s Finance Director. Principle accountabilities of the Finance Manager role include: Divisional Management Develop the business plan for the division with other functional heads within the division and ensuring it is aligned to the Group’s strategic objectives. Ownership of the budget and three year forecast for the division, ensuring it is accurate and well managed, and ultimately delivering it. Review and challenge proposed land acquisitions, including areas such as the financial assumptions and VAT issues. Primary divisional contact for divisional HR, payroll, IT and fleet issues with support available from Group. Advise and challenge on proposed joint venture structures, including financial and management reporting scopes, bank accounts and tax. Reporting, Controlling and Operational Manage the interim and year end process with external auditors through to sign off for the division. Ensure transactions (including joint ventures) are set up in the most efficient manner for Bellway consulting with external advisors. Implement month end processes, stakeholder reporting including statutory accounts, external audit reviews and represent Bellway on any boards as required. Oversee all month end processes for the division and timely delivery of management information to both the divisional management team and Group. Treasury management – ensuring monthly and daily cash flow forecasts for the division are as accurate as possible. Accurately complete returns to Group such as at year end, half year end, budgets, pay review, bonus calculations, National Statistics and prompt payments. Management compliance and overall responsibility for all taxes relating to the Division. This includes VAT, CIS, payroll taxes and corporation tax. Forecast valuation revenues in conjunctions with the Sales Director for inclusion in the quarterly valuations. Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience Considerable post-qualified experience gained in industry in a role incorporating accounting and financial control responsibly. Experience must include: Financial and management accounting including leading month end close, evidence of responding to and working with external auditors, providing analysis, profit and loss and cashflow, forecasting and planning, supporting and challenging businesses to make optimal operational and performance decisions. Experience of successfully leading and developing a team. Qualifications and Training ACA qualification preferred however CIMA and ACCA will be considered.
