Job Description
Dutton Recruitment are seeking a Public Health Intelligence Officer for work in the South Yorkshire area.
A new opportunity is available to support delivery of a local authority Covid-19 Outbreak Plan. Individuals appointed to this post will form part of a unique network of skills to deliver a variety of services to our residents during exceptional times. The pandemic has placed significant extra demands on the public health team, particularly with regards to outbreak control and contact tracing. This additional intelligence post will provide additional analytical and business intelligence support to the authorities' response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The postholder will also be expected to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, support the senior team across a range of activities, and be familiar with working in a political environment and across wider partnerships.
This post holder will lead the on-going data and intelligence required for robust Covid-19 surveillance. The post-holder will be responsible for analysing and interpreting complex and sensitive information from a wide range of local and national sources to; inform action, provide reliable surveillance and monitoring and support operational and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will have experience of working with health and socio-economic information sources, they will have excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. Candidates will need experience in interpreting and understanding complex data sets and be able to work under their own initiative to solve problems, interpret data, create appropriate reporting solutions and draw out key findings. The ability to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines is absolutely essential. As is a flexible and positive approach to work in order to deal with what are sometimes unpredictable and changing demands.
The post holder will be expected to have skills and experience listed in the job description. The role of Public Health Intelligence Officer will report to a Public Health Consultant and sit within the Adult Care, Housing and Public Health directorate.
