The Company


This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer seeking their next challenge. This well-established company produce high energy efficient homes. Offer end to end solutions starting with Design.

The Role


You will report to the Design Manager.


Duties will include: -


  • The production of all designs and information required to procure, manufacture and install standard and bespoke off-site manufactured solutions
  • Ensure that all information required to produce design outputs is understood and appropriately/accurately recorded
  • Ensure that all design outputs are issued on-time, in-full and right-first-time
  • Maximise design efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure that safe working practices are always maintained
  • People and performance management
  • Develop full project plans and documentation
  • You will have responsibility for the development and supervision of Graduate Design Engineers


About You
You will hold a full driving licence and have a flexible working ethos.

  • Strong skills in Excel & AutoCAD or similar MS Office, 2D / 3D CAD software packages (essential).
  • Suitable Engineering HNC (minimum) in either Structural or Mechanical Engineering
  • Suitable Engineering Honours Degree (ideal but not essential) Have designer or senior designer experience in the design of offsite panelised light gauge steel structural solutions and/or through wall building envelope solutions into the built environment.
  • Experienced in utilising parametric design principles to create structural and architectural solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with BIM.
  • Knowledge of current drawing practice and standards related to 3D modelling, connections detailing, and fabrication/assembly drawings is essential.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineer's drawings/calculations, architect's drawings and client specifications, translating the relevant information into fabrication/assembly drawings and site arrangements.
  • Ability to liaise competently and efficiently with engineers and architects and manage the flow of technical information on projects and standard product ranges.
  • Ability to work as a team to ensure every project is a success. Works will involve co-ordination with Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Site Installation and client teams.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Capable of designing multiple concurrent design packages, with a track record of successful project completion.
