Project Manager - Healthcare sector

Job Description

THE ROLE

My client, a large firm of construction and engineering consultants seeks a PROJECT MANAGER to join them in LONDON to work on a range of high value construction projects in the healthcare sector.

Current projects include the complete redevelopment of major hospitals valued up to £500m.

You will carry out the full range of project management duties from feasibility through project delivery.

Depending on project size you will either be the Project Manager or be part of a larger team responsible for project management from feasibility through to project delivery.

THE CLIENT

My client is a successful international firm of construction and engineering consultants and this role is in their team that provides cost management and project management across a wide range of sectors.

Their project management team is highly successful working with a good range of clients in both private and public sectors.

Clients are wide based and projects include major London based hospitals for complete redevelopment, extension, alteration and more.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to have a BSc or BSc Hons or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Construction Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or another construction / built environment subject.

You may be recently qualified with MRICS / MAPM / RIBA / CIOB or be currently working towards becoming chartered.

You also need to have at least two years' minimum experience working as a Project Manager post graduation in the construction industry.

You should have worked for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants or "client-side" ideally although someone from a main contractor may be considered.

Experience of working on construction projects in healthcare, education or pharmaceutical / bio-science projects is preferred.

Experience in the use of JCT and/or NEC contracts required.

You will need to have good experience of contract administration, being able to engage with the client and construction and design teams to move the project forward to completion.

You should have experience of chairing meetings and taking accurate notes, change management, report writing, be aware of risk management techniques, stakeholder management etc.

My client seeks candidates who have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken), who are enthusiastic and dynamic to deal with complex projects and demanding clients.

You will need to have a stable work record with known firms.
