Area Sales Manager / or Trainee Sales person - Agricultural Products
Basic from £30,000 to £50,000 (DOE) + generous team bonus + Car or Car Allowance

You will be joining a well-established and profitable independently owned business that sells inoculants and grain processing equipment to farmers for both silage production and for the conversion of grain and pulses for animal feed use. The range of product extends from scientifically proved inoculants through materials used within clamps to equipment for grain and pulse conversion.

This role is very consultative and our client's products are sold on their efficiency and the added value that it brings to a farmer rather than on the basis of price. You will be taking over an area that has been worked and so you will enjoy repeat business but there is an emphasis on building some new accounts which will eventually add to your region's account base.

This role will suit a successful sales individual who is comfortable satisfying a farmers needs based on a sophisticated consultative sell where you can demonstrate real added value to the animal feed stock sector. You will be part of a close knit team who work very hard to insure that all within the company are successful. Your employer will train you in their products and support you by exhibiting at all relevant agricultural shows, producing "evidence" based marketing material and supporting you in your endeavours to produce business.

About you:

It is likely that you have attended an agricultural college like Harper Adams or Cirencester (although not essential) and then progressed into a field sales role selling products agri chemicals, agrochemicals, fertilisers or potentially capital equipment directly to farms.

Products may include farm animal pharmaceuticals, feed supplements, agricultural chemicals, bull semen, fertilisers, forage and nutritional supplements and additives. You will want to join a business who historically look after their staff and to demonstrate this, have individuals who have worked there for well over 10 years. An environment which nurtures success and rewards sales achievements with a good salary / bonus.

This is an autonomous role where you will be encouraged to use your own knowledge of the farming community to produce business whilst have significant marketing collateral behind you.

The rewards for experienced agricultural sales personnel include:

A basic salary of circa £50,000 negotiable to reflect experience and ability
A generous team related bonus scheme
