Job Description

What we’re looking for Scaffolding and Shoring Project Engineer Brentwood We’re looking for a Scaffolding and Shoring Project Engineer to join our Engineering Team. You will be responsible for providing engineering guidance for minor and major scaffolding projects across the UK. You will also be responsible for designing scaffold and shoring systems, whilst working both independently and as part of a team. Key Duties • Assist the Special Solution Team and the National Engineering Manager in maintaining/producing high design standards and special solutions • Lead complex projects and deal with the interface between technical offices, customers and logistics • Visit sites to deal with complex site issues or safety critical items • Provide innovating solutions and contribute in Product Development on Scaffold and Shoring applications • Support tender development and delivery • Plan and track project progress and maintain cost control • Supervise and coordinate assigned engineering section activities • Provide resolutions for technical/engineering for cost control problems • Report on project status • Advise and consult on the application of effective planning techniques and controls • Support program integration and project controls best practices • Check and approve other designs • Work with engineering related software to provide high level of solutions What you’ll get in return Benefits • Competitive salary & benefits package • Non contractual annual bonus • Company car or cash for car • 5 days annual leave for Christmas shut down • 20 days annual leave entitlement plus Bank Holidays • Company pension contributions 3% employee + 6% contribution • Private Healthcare cover What you’ll need Experience • Demonstrate an in depth knowledge in all aspects of scaffold and shoring designs • Previous knowledge of PERI materials (Desirable) • Good working knowledge of CAD based design tools • Good working experience of Frame Analysis Programs (RStab knowledge will be an asset) • Good understanding of relevant European and British standards applicable to scaffolding and shoring • Awareness of requirements for CDM compliance • Management experience and staff development Personal attributes • Highly analytic individual with sound engineering understanding • Planning and project management skills • Desire to build knowledge of PERIcad • Excellent communication and social skills • Meticulous attention to detail Other criteria • BSc in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering • Health and Safety Knowledge • CDM 2015 Knowledge • Working with Eurocodes and BS’s and NASC Technical guidance
