Construction Materials Technician (Ref:9620)

Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Construction Materials Technician to join our Ready Mix Concrete division to provide technical support to production units in the East and West Midlands. About the role You will be obtaining samples and carrying out appropriate product testing for the purposes of validating conformity and customer satisfaction. Elements to the role include: To undertake materials testing of plastic and hardened concrete To support the business with visits to customer sites to investigate technical or quality queries or failures and assist with the investigation of customer complaints Working closely with the technical, commercial and operations teams, you will support, advise and provide technical guidance to ensure the company adheres to minimum legal and product standard requirements at optimum cost You may be involved in product development which may require that you undertake laboratory product trials, product training and demonstrations - both onsite and off site This role is ideally suited to a mature school/college leaver looking to commence a technical career in the construction materials industry Ensure company van and test equipment provided to carry out technician duties remains in a safe and legal condition with a good standard of housekeeping Work within the area laboratory and/or any satellite laboratories in a safe manner; maintain the premises in clean and tidy condition at all times What will you bring? Must have a full UK driving licence A recognised qualification in concrete technology or other construction materials related studies would be desirable Enthusiastic hard-working individual able to work on their own initiative Fit and healthy as some heavy lifting may be required Keen to learn and develop into the role Good communication skills both written and verbal Organised with planning and delivery capabilities Acts with integrity Conscientious and accurate Ability to work as part of a team ​ What’s on offer?
