Area Technical Manager (Ref: 9916)

Job Description

We have a rare opportunity for an Area Technical Manager who will manage the technical and quality control of our Readymix concrete plants across London. This role will provide you with the scope to utilise your technical and quality experience, providing the link between the commercial and operational teams, as well as navigate into product design and development as you look to build out more sustainable and environmental solutions. About the role Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will build solid and lasting relationships with senior technical, commercial and operational management across the business and with our customers and client group. The role will be supported by area ready mix concrete managers, technicians and the services of an internal test house and mix design laboratory. Other elements to the role include: MRA management including validation and new MRA development Customer liasion, query investigation and resolution Performance products development and support Technical support for Sales and Operations teams Raw material quality monitoring and reporting Major project support Leadership in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment Operate and manage the quality management systems to ensure attainment of the KPI’s Review material combinations to ensure the region maintains the lowest practical cost base Assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis to identify areas of conformity improvement Agree and where necessary develop workflow/ procedures for compliance Monitor effectiveness of the corrective action Build customer relationships and provide specialist technical support Interact with the area management to highlight trends towards non conformity What will you bring? Experienced ready mix concrete technical professional with a commercial mindset Degree level preferred but not essential, or some element of technical concrete qualification Knowledge of Quality Assurance ISO 9001, EN206 and BS8500 Be able to operate in line with safety, health, environment and quality procedures and legislation, our brand values, competition law compliance and other business processes and procedures Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and customers Be able to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and respond to change Proven ability to motivate self to meet targets and deliver results and manage costs ​What’s on offer?
