There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Wessex Division is looking to recruit a Layout Designer to join the Division’s Technical department. The Role The role of Layout Designer reports to the Technical Manager and Technical Director. Principle accountabilities of the Layout Designer role include: Reviewing the existing outline planning information and liaising with internal Bellway teams (Technical, Planning & Land) to produce constraints and opportunities plans and initial block structure plans Liaising with a number of external bodies, such as design consultants, local authority and planning consultants Reviewing scheme layouts produced by external consultants for a variety of residential developments to ensure compliance with Bellway philosophy and design brief alongside LPA planning requirements Production of presentation drawings for internal review and management meetings Pre-application planning submissions, planning applications and obtaining approvals. Monitor the progress of planning applications and subsequent release of planning conditions Production of Title Plan / Site overlays and Land Contract Plan Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience Experience of housebuilding Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of the development business and the necessity to balance the varying needs of different internal departments Up to date knowledge of Building Regulation / NHBC knowledge in regards to layout design Qualifications and Training Current CSCS card or equivalent GCSE grade 4+ or equivalent in Maths and English AutoCAD essential and Photoshop preferred Skills and Aptitude Strong communication and listening skills Highly motivated to deliver quality developments Ability to work on own as well as part of a team IT literate and the ability to adapt to new systems Good administration skills Ability to work to deadlines Committed to diversity and inclusion The Role and Working Conditions Willing to be flexible in respect to day to day duties and hours worked. Office based role, with travel within the Divisional area. Ability to travel to development sites as and when required.
