The Role - Electrical Development Engineer

The successful Electrical Development Engineer will support the sales, engineering & production teams by designing, testing, and implementing electrical solutions in line with client requirements regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Design wiring looms & cable preparation kits in line with design and production schedules, keeping the loom schedule up to date and maintained

Liaise with loom suppliers for specification & pricing

Check drawings before issuing them as finished looms

Test new products/solutions and record all relevant data to support decision making, reporting findings by written or verbal means as required

Provide supporting information following prototype installation, collate and hold data in support of all testing carried out

Source potential new products for future builds, meeting with suppliers as necessary, understand new technology and how the companies conversions can benefit

Work with the sales and design departments to fully understand the customers requirements & develop solutions to fit the customers needs.

Assist with the programming and/or commissioning of components and systems

The Right Person

The successful Electrical Development Engineer will have the following attributes.

• Experience with the integration of electrical components and systems into vehicles
• Experience of CAD packages, particularly electrical design
• Knowledge of light commercial vehicles
• Formal electrical training/qualifications
• Knowledge of PCB design & programming
