Mechanical Fitter

The Role:

The main purpose for the successful Mechanical Fitter is to assemble mechanical products to ensure on time to a standard of excellence.

The Company:

My client, a leading manufacturer based in Leicestershire with over 50 years engineering experience are looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter into their team of specialist engineers.

Day to Day Duties:

• Assembly of mechanical products in accordance with drawings, specifications and assembly procedures
• Make modifications in conjunction with the design team, during build to facilitate the customers requirements
• Work with the installation and commissioning engineers including assisting with site installations / service visit as and when required
• Manufacture and fabricate bespoke parts in the machine shop when required
• Use build sheets to ensure times and processes of build are adhered to, making notes as required.
• Raise ECR's accordingly when designs have errors and in line with the shop floor manager's instructions / quality assurance system
• Work to deadlines and changing priorities whilst maintaining a high standard
• Use the factory master data capture to record time worked on each job
• Monitor quality and ensure that all areas meet the company standards and are in line with quality assurance sheets

Skills and Experience Required:

• Broad fitting and or assembly engineering background ideally gained in special purpose machinery, turnkey engineering solutions or bespoke engineering machinery.
• Proven track record in mechanical fitting and assembly
• Excellent problem solver, innovative and creative thinker
• Ability to work on a variety of projects of varying duration
• Adaptable to change, resilient with a dynamic approach
• Familiar with quality within projects, ideally worked with ISO standards
• Full driving licence and International passport are required as some travel within the UK and overseas may be required
