Job Description

Tendley Quarries have an exciting opportunity for a Quarry Supervisor to join their operation based locally to Cockermouth. Tendley Quarry is a busy limestone quarry with static crushing plants, aggregate screens as well as on site Asphalt Plant. About the role As Quarry Supervisor reporting to the Production Manager you will have a wide-ranging role; you will take charge of production and hands-on maintenance daily. Other elements of the role include: Oversee the day to day running of all operations and activities on site Implement and ensure compliance of the company’s Health and Safety Rules/Policies, Environmental Policy, Site Specific Rules and ensure that all activities under your control are conducted within the requirements of current legislation To operate the site in accordance with the planning permission and any other environmental permits To ensure site operations are carried out in accordance with the geotechnical assessment and quarry design plan To ensure operation are carried out in a manner which minimises their environmental impact on our local surroundings and neighbours Assist in incident investigations Effective utilisation of all plant, equipment and facilities under your control to ensure optimum production and minimum downtime To ensure that production targets are achieved within the timescales and cost restraints To ensure the effective utilisation of the workforce under your control To assist the Production Manager to ensure that inductions and job training is given to all employees and contractors Ensure that all personnel (contractors and employees) are competent to carry out tasks to be undertaken What will you bring?
