To support our progress, we need an innovative and dynamic strategic leader to shape and develop how we best use our MIS and IT resources to generate business intelligence to support the very best decision making, to drive efficient curriculum planning and optimise funding and to continue to innovate and support our teachers and students to achieve 'Excellence'. This is a new role and will be an important member of our Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will be a proven MIS and IT leader, an expert in FE funding who can demonstrate innovative approaches to simplify and transform existing systems and merge new ILR's. This appointee will use IT and MIS creatively to drive forward our business across a multi-campus college, stretching over a large geographical area. We are not looking for a 'data cruncher' but seek an energetic leader of a large team, who really does see the bigger picture

Sunderland College has four main campuses, including three in the city and one in Washington, and teaches more than 13,500 students each year. Bede Campus is home to Sunderland Sixth Form, a hub of academic excellence, offering over 30 A-level subjects and the largest Sixth Form provider in the city. It is also home to the impressive Arts Academy delivering visual and performing arts alongside exclusive NextGen VFX courses, with a 194-seat theatre, dance and drama studios and recording studios. The neighbouring Sports Academy boats sports science labs and multi-purpose sports hall, fully-equipped fitness suite and the Elite Sport Development Centres for Cricket and Men's and Women's Football.
The college opened City Campus, a flagship £29m vocational campus, in 2016 which delivers courses in engineering, manufacturing, construction trades, automotive trades, travel and tourism, hair and beauty, and catering and hospitality. The campus is home to an 80 cover restaurant, a luxury spa, salon and barbers, bakery, garage, aircraft fuselage and £750k specialist engineering facilities.
