Technical Director Job in Washington DC
Rare opportunity to join an established design firm at a senior level, a new Technical Director job is available and our client is looking for someone with a strong background in the commercial interiors sector with the ability to provide strong technical direction and assist in the development of the studio.
Established for over 60 years, this practice has links across the US and covers all aspects of architectural planning, interior design, and brand development for commercial projects of all sizes. You will be joining a vibrant and highly enthusiastic team with a strong work ethic to deliver some of the best projects across the workplace and commercial sectors.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of a wide range of commercial interior design projects, across all stages
- Review and sign off all construction documents
- Promote and ensure adherence with firm-wide technical design standards
- Technical reviews and construction administration
- Support staff, assist with problem solving and advising on best practice
- Assist with Revit drawings/production
- Be the point of contact for building code questions
- Attend site visits and client interviews.
Required Skills & Experience
- Licenced Architect
- 10+ years of commercial interior design experience
- Proficient in Revit
- AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) are also beneficial
- Highly experienced in detailing interior architecture
- Strong knowledge of building codes, systems, and ADA requirements
- Risk management and understanding of legal restrictions associated with commercial interiors
- Team management experience.
