Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Our major client is looking to recruit a Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical) to their expanding team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidates will join a highly focused, passionate team, working on a range of exciting projects.

Mechanical Design Engineer: Your Responsibilities:
*Concept installation work & design studies
*Design detailing, BOM compilation and drawing release
*Structural Calculations and FEA
*Technical Documentation compilation of design adherence to STD's and Body Builder requirements
*Prototype / Batch production build support
*Liaise with internal/external customers/departments, as required during projects
*Management of Projects from Concept through to final production.

Mechanical Design Engineer: About you:
The successful candidate would have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably) or HND and have relevant on the job experience, with knowledge of Structures, Hydraulics, and electrics. You should have an enthusiastic can do attitude, desire to succeed and good time management skills. Applicants must have both good teamwork and communication skills and good working knowledge of CAD/PDM systems (Solid Works Preferable). Knowledge of other engineering software packages i.e. FEA would be desirable.

Candidates that have bodybuilding (Automotive) experience are encouraged to apply along with those that have experience of designing utility vehicle conversions.
