Field Repair Manager

Lift Industry

Department: Modernisation & Repairs

Reports to: Branch Manager

South West UK

Commutable from: Surrey, Oxford, Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham, Swindon

Salary: £45,000 (Depending on Experience) + Overtime + Benefits

Purpose

To manage your team of engineers and subcontractors to deliver the Branch Business Action Plan

objectives for major and minor repair fulfilment to achieve general margin contribution.

Management focus of your branch field workforce/subcontractors in the following four key areas:

    Health and Safety

    Customer Service - Proactive communication to ensure collaboration

    Quality - Set high standards for all engineers and subcontractors

    Productivity - Spending the majority of your time in the field supporting and monitoring your individual team members. Minimising unproductive site time and ensuring quality completions to ensure a strong general margin contribution.

Key Responsibilities

    People Development - Develop and implement - the Company's people development, training plans and procedures

    Sales - To assist the sales teams wherever necessary and to recognise sales opportunities and communicate these to our sales teams effectively.

    Systems and Administration - To adhere to the company's pricing, safety, quality, sales and other administrative procedures outlined in our policy statements and Quality Management system.

    Communication and Group Relations - Ensure that you use intercompany systems correctly and communicate effectively.

    Financial - Assist in labour costing, all overheads and wastage, Premises, Assets and Sustainability Participate in the good maintenance of all Company premises and assets at all times, as required by the Branch Manager.

    Business Development - Contribute to and where appropriate take the lead in continuous improvement activities that are required for the further development of the branch or business.

Skills, Experience & Professional or Technical Qualifications

    A significant track record of success in a similar business environment, managing a team of field-based engineers/ Technician that is the interface between the customer base and administrative office environment

    Proven commercial acumen in the management of the team to deliver

    Strong leadership experience and management of technical field based engineers.

    Good technical understanding of the lift industry in both the complex repair of products but also supply lines and other solutions

    Qualified to NVQ level 3 Management Studies or NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering
