Group Learning and Development Manager

Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit an experienced Learning and Development Manager. The Role Bellway’s HR and Learning and Development department is a centralised Head Office based team providing advice and support to the Group Head Office and Divisions. The role of Learning and Development Manager reports to the Group HR Director, who will be responsible for all aspects of learning and development including developing and evolving our Bellway Academy as well as managing apprenticeships, development programmes and training. Principle accountabilities of the Learning and Development Manager role include: Oversee and continually develop all aspects of learning and development, including needs analysis, training design, delivery and evaluation. Manage Bellway’s apprenticeship, graduate and site management development programmes, ensuring that learners are getting the best learning experience. Review early years and development programmes to ensure that there is a modern approach to learning and development and make sure that programmes are flexible and versatile in the way that they are delivered. Design and deliver workshops and training through our newly formed Bellway Academy. Review the outcomes from a pilot leadership and management programme and implement an appropriate programme. Design, develop and implement a Group induction for all new starters. Work with the Group Learning and Development Assistant to develop new e-learning courses through the Bellway Learning Hub to increase our online offering of training to all employees. Support managers with individual development plans to improve capability, skill-building and support succession planning across the business. Work in collaboration with HR colleagues on a variety of projects such as schools engagement, developing HR related training for managers and recruitment campaigns for early years programmes. Lead on any training actions that arise from Bellway’s engagement survey or customer first project. Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience Experience of working as a Learning Development Manager, with experience of managing apprenticeship and graduate programmes. Experience of developing engaging e-learning content and courses. Experience of developing construction, sales, HR and/or management training. Experience of coaching and mentoring is desirable. Experience of working in a fast-paced commercial environment is desirable Qualifications and Training GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C (or equivalent) or above Relevant L&D qualification. Skills and Aptitude Ability to identify and deliver learning and development needs. Demonstrates a professional and business-focussed approach to learning and development. Exceptional communicator with the ability to present and converse across a wide audience. Excellent administration and organisation skills Confident with dealing with L&D issues by phone or virtually. Excellent attention to detail A self-starter, who is able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation, but also work closely with colleagues. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems.
