Area Technical Manager (Ref: 9597)

Job Description

We have an opportunity for a confident Area Technical Manager who will ensure effective interaction with the area management team in maintaining support for Company’s Health, Safety, Quality and financial objectives. About the role Reporting to the Technical Manager you will ensure that all your immediate subordinates are trained to maintain a tidy, safe and healthy working environment by providing regular and relevant updates to training and toolbox talks, and completing regular interactive safety tours. Elements to the role include: A focus on managing and coordinating quality control testing to meet QSRMC and EN206 Regulations and ensuring compliance with all Health and safety and environmental legislation Providing high level technical issue resolution and support to both internal and external customers Supporting new contract bids by providing technical support to bid teams and stakeholders Close monitoring of business performance outcomes and targets to improve productivity and reduce costs Plan, establish and maintain the most efficient mix recipe’s and designs and associated Operate a technical contract review process to ensure that the Company are not exposed to unacceptable technical risk and that customer product and specification requirements can be satisfied and delivered in a timely manner Ability to perform to agreed standards and objectives, meeting quality and time deadlines through effective time management Be flexible in promoting and adapting to changing business needs Assist/support in maintaining external and internal customer requirements and needs in a timely, quality and cost-effective manner Staff – Management, supervision, training and coaching of all staff based in area to reach optimum performance of each individual within the team through continual assessment of training needs etc Support the departments in training - fundamental requirements of readymix Focal point for technical enquiries within the sales department, encouraging wherever possible “added” value engineering solutions What will you bring? In depth knowledge and practical application of asphalt and aggregate specifications, materials testing and production methods A firm understanding of ISO 9001 and other construction standards and specifications minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within the construction industry Full driving licence with the requirement to be mobile to cover the geographic area of responsibility What’s on offer?
