Logistics Planner

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a confident and highly motivated Logistics Transport Planner to assist in ensuring the timely delivery of materials to our customers. You will join our motivated logistics team based at our Bardon Hill Head Office. About the role Within this role you will deliver optimised, integrated road logistics planning for Aggregates & Asphalt within the Regional Customer Centre to agreed KPIs and SLAs. Other elements to the role include: Positively influence the haulier’s perception of Aggregate Industries Build closer relationships with haulage partners both franchise and external Negotiate haulage rates and ensure that correct details are set against correct contract Deploy haulage resource to ensure all Customer orders both internal and external are fulfilled with optimum benefit to both the Customer and the Business Support and process, where required, Customer orders in accordance with the current plant approval status and major contract information Review, maintain and operate the optimising planning tools Navman / E pod Ensure the completion of same day Customer orders and the programme review for next day planning Liaise with Customer Service Representatives on a daily basis to anticipate potential customer service issues/plant breakdown, and seek to offer assistance to enable resolution Maintain awareness of current Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance requirements relating to company policies Ensure Haulier and Driver Compliance database is current and accurate Assist with Weighbridge function, driver and vehicle audits as required to familiarise with required process’ Build and maintain strong relationships with franchise and external hauliers Identify and communicate any potential new suppliers or sales opportunities to Business Managers Ensure haulage rates are negotiated, agreed and administered accurately Resolve any queries within the appropriate timescales to ensure that payments are invoices are paid/charged in the correct timescale Attendance at internal liaison and external haulier meetings as required What will you bring? Strong administration skills General haulage knowledge with geographical knowledge Experienced in using various IT systems and packages Organised with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure​ Ability to work under pressure Able to work collaboratively with the team Self-motivated with a can-do attitude An overview of Aggregate Industries products, material processing and Customer knowledge Eagerness to develop skills and abilities What’s on offer?
