Asphalt Plant Supervisor (Ref: 9653)

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Asphalt Plant Supervisor to effectively supervise and coordinate all site operations at our Bristol plant. About the role You will effectively supervise and coordinate all site operations in a safe manner, maintaining production to meet customer demand. Safety is a priority. Production must be optimised with the site and facilities kept in a well maintained condition. Elements to the role include: Ensure the allocated business unit as a minimum complies to ISO9001 & 14001 national third party accreditations Be able to complete to company standards, Risk Assessments and Method Statements with the ability to review employees and contractors completed ones for accuracy Instil company Standards through Visible Felt Leadership Instigate and be involved in the delivery of Interactive Safety Tours (IST) Ensure all Incidents, nears misses and Safety Concerns are reported and investigated to company standards Through Knowledge and understanding of the company KMI system, input information in the correct manner Assist the Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager to ensure all incidents, near misses, Safety concern’s, audits and action plans are closed out with corrective actions in a timely manner Carry out Hazard Investigation tours (HIT) Assist with and deliver regular tool box talks and safety briefings Read and understand the IPPC Permit issued by the local Authority and operate the Unit in full compliance of the IPPC Permit Ensure asphalt sampling is completed to the correct standards and timescales Train and coach staff in order that full compliance can be achieved Ensure the company cash sale procedure is followed at all times What will you bring? QCF Level 2 SHE Qualification or comparable Previous work in heavy industry, preferably in a supervisory capacity Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others Demonstrable experience in a similar role Experience of working within budgetary constraints Understanding of budgets and financial responsibility Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities Understanding of basic maintenance and PPM What’s on offer?
