About the role
As a Mobile Fitter reporting to our Fitter Foreman, you will be mostly mobile but will report to our Northfleet workshop. You'll be responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, repairing and servicing plant and equipment both on-site and at our Northfleet workshop.  Contributing to the preparation and development of safe working methods for repair procedures, you’ll respond to both unplanned repairs and plant breakdowns, ensuring any temporary fixes are followed up with permanent solutions.  You must maintain a high standard of housekeeping and strong communication with the site team, in addition to supporting and training operatives to complete maintenance tasks. 
 
Other key deliverables;
  • Ensuring all plant stoppages, breakdowns, and logs are documented 
  • Adhering to all safety-related documentation 
  • Providing standby cover at night; weekend working may be required.
 
What will you bring?
An experienced fitter, skilled in welding, cutting and fabricating techniques, you’ll need an NVQ3 technical qualification or equivalent, together with excellent communication and team-working skills, although you’ll also need to be able to work individually exercising reasonable initiative.  Able to work as part of a 24-hour, 7-day operation, you’ll need a sound understanding of the importance of safe working and excellent attention to detail.  A highly motivated individual with drive and enthusiasm and flexible towards working hours, you must also have:
  • good organisational skills
  • IT-literacy 
  • the ability to work flexibly to deadlines.
