Job Description

Plant Fitter, full time, permanent position

Breedon is a leading constructions materials group in Great Britain and Ireland, with around 1 billion tonnes of mineral Reserves and Resources. Breedon has a strong growth strategy having significantly expanded in 2020/21 with the acquisition of the Cemex assets, delivering an additional 170 million tonnes.

We are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our Eastern team to maintain our ready-mix concrete plants and quarries, supporting our Lincolnshire based sites.

You must have previous experience as a Plant Fitter in a similar role. You will have a flexible, proactive, and 'hands-on' approach to work with effective communication, problem solving and IT skills. In the role, you will be involved with customers and colleagues at every level in the business and therefore should be able to work confidently and courteously within the team and on your own initiative.

This role may involve travel to other Breedon and customer locations and therefore the job holder must possess a full UK driving licence.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Carrying out tasks safely having conducted Risk Assessments
  • Servicing and repair of HGV, and other Construction Plant
  • Breakdown repairs in the field
  • Record keeping for work undertaken
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in the workshop
  • You will be able to:

  • Demonstrate that you can work safely
  • Possess good organisational and communication skill
  • Have the appropriate skills and qualifications to execute the requirements of the role, and to provide flexibility to undertake emergency repairs where and when these arise
