Relief Plant Supervisor

Job Description

Our Kendalls team in Portsmouth are currently looking for a driven and customer focused Relief Plant Supervisor to help provide day to day cover and management across our concrete plants within the region. About the role Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and running the operation(s), supervision of production staff, fostering employee engagement on site and most importantly driving and maintaining leading health and safety standards. You will also play a key role in dealing with customers in a positive manner and in ensuring the seamless movement of vehicles on and off-site. Other key deliverables include: Helping to manage the units to achieve required sales and production targets Ensuring that customers operate safely at all times while on site including the wearing of correct PPE and adherence to our traffic management procedures Ensuring stock piles and aggregate bays are managed correctly and within the sites permit conditions Completing all documentation ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company procedures including technical testing of manufactured product Managing the plant maintenance programme to ensure our assets run effectively Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping across the site Deputise for Plant Manager as required including delivery of toolbox talks, safety briefings and driver/contractor inductions What will you bring? Have a working knowledge of Safety Management Systems A real passion for developing yourself and others whilst contributing as part of a wider team Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined environment Strong customer focus with the willingness to find solutions Self-motivation and initiative to take decisions An excellent all-round communicator who is structured and well organised Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a production/manufacturing environment would be advantageous What’s on offer?
