Senior Formwork Designer

Job Description

~~What we’re looking for
Senior Formwork Designer
Chepstow
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Formwork Designer to join our Technical team in Chepstow. Whether it’s a large engineering project or a smaller construction project, this role is responsible for ensuring that we accurately meet our customers’ requirements by providing our Sales Engineers with first class technical support. At the same time, you’ll inspire and motivate, working with the Team Leader to incorporate a continuous focus on developing your team in everything you do. 


Key duties:
• Assist the Team Leader in maintaining the operational performance of the Technical Office and, where necessary, lead the team in the Team Leaders absence.
• Develop an understanding of PERI’s products and Technical design strategy.
• Produce accurate and economical drawings, schedules and quotations whilst maintaining an efficient and effective use of time.
• Check schemes produced by other technical team members to ensure safety, accuracy and economy
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all staff, customers and visitors
• Provide technical advice on all PERI products to customers and PERI Sales Engineers
• Actively promote the supply of a first class technical service and lead by example
• Maintain clear and concise records in accordance with company procedures
• Work closely with the Team Leader to ensure consistent, efficient working practices.
• Build a good rapport with Sales Engineers and customers
• Represent the Technical Team to collaborate with and support other regions and functions. Assist the Team Leader with the recruitment and development of Technical staff

 

What you’ll need

Experience
• A depth of experience in a similar role, working with all aspects of Formwork, Falsework and scaffolding designs
• Experience in management and staff development (desirable for senior design role)
• In depth knowledge of AutoCAD
• Desire to build knowledge of PERIcad
• In depth knowledge of Design Analysis Programs
