Job Description

Aggregate Industries a leading player in construction solutions are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter covering the night shift to ensure the smooth operation of their busy Torr Works quarry. About the role The Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be part of a skilled maintenance team responsible for all fixed plant equipment at Torr Works, carrying out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance work. Working safely at all times, the Maintenance Fitter will ensure efficient production in support of customer demands. About the role Fault finding and diagnostic skills on heavy industrial plant Routine and preventative maintenance Installation of new equipment Respond to plant breakdowns – ensuring it is returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution Carry out planned repairs to equipment to maintain asset capacity and value Contribute to the preparation and development of Safe Systems of Work for repair procedures What will you bring? Ability to work on a nightshift and occasional weekend work Maintenance experience within a quarrying/mining environment Experience of working at height & in confined spaces Time served as Mechanical craftsperson Possess an NVQ level 3 or above qualification or equivalent Competent with fabrication/welding and hydraulics Experienced with lifting and slinging activities What can we offer you?
