Senior Project Engineer

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Senior Engineer for initially a 2 month duration in the centre of Birmingham, although there is the potential for this project to be extended for an indefinite duration.

We are seeking someone to represent our client within project offices and working alongside their client to optimise the proposal for the design, manufacture and installation of three precast concrete 'Green Tunnels' in Lots C2 and C3 of the HS2 major civils works. The role will be supported by a dedicated design resource and an on site team from both our client and their partners who have worked together on the development of the project bid so far.

Initially, you will be required to attend our clients' head office in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire for full project familiarisation and then will be based in the centre of Birmingham until at least 28th February although this is more than likely going to be reviewed and extended.

The successful candidate will be vastly experienced within the civil sector, be able to think quickly and react to an ever changing environment and be able to rapidly assimilate development work undertaken so far. You must also be able to contribute to discussions in a broad range of disciplines relating to the manufacture, logistics, construction and management of the proposed precast scheme,

The successful candidate must have experience in the management of major civil engineering projects in the rail sector, ideally with extensive knowledge of precast concrete installation and associated activities such as waterproofing, earth works and logistics.,

This position is for a Senior Engineer, who is driven by attention to detail and quality of output. If you are professionally qualified or working towards a professional qualification this will be highly advantageous to your application as will knowledge or previous experience of working on an airport construction project. If you also hold a SSSTS or SMSTS qualification, this is also preferable to the contractor when considering applications.

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

* Degree, Bachelors, MSc or HND in Civil Engineering
* Experience of working in a main contractor environment
* Hold a valid CSCS certification
* Own Equipment is preferred.
