Regional Electrical Engineer (Ref: 9701)

Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Electrical Engineer to oversee, plan and manage safely and cost effectively, all electrical engineering activity within our Southern businesses. This is a pivotal role for the region and provides an exciting platform for an individual looking to showcase their ability and build their career within the construction materials sector. About the role Reporting to the National Engineering Manager your overarching responsibility will be specifically to manage and advise on the technical aspects of electrical activities for all areas of the Aggregates Industries Southern business which incorporates our quarry, asphalt and ready mix concrete network. You will ensure that all electrical systems are installed, used and maintained in a safe and cost-effective manner as set out within the ESMS. Other key deliverables include; Ensure plant / equipment and activities comply with corporate policies and procedures (Specifically the ESMS) Help to oversee planning / budgeting and control of electrical engineering related shutdown works across the region, focusing on optimising plant and equipment availability Assist and identify both capital and non-capital process improvement opportunities, analysing their costs and contributions in conjunction with unit managers, Site Electrical Support and Project Engineers Design, implement and manage in conjunction with unit managers, schemes for performance enhancement and energy efficiency with a focus to help reduce operating costs Continuously challenge the safety performance and standards of units and personnel Develop and manage the in-house control system engineering team based at our flagship Torr Quarry Coach electrical engineering personnel in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities and help develop future potential Set and monitor performance objectives for individuals and teams within the region's electrical engineering community, striving for world class standards Communicate and resolve significant electrical engineering issues and provide advice and guidance in relation to options available Work with unit managers to ensure competent personnel are available within the region to support operations Manage and administer the HV maintenance contract across the southern region What will you bring? Chartered Engineer status (ideally) with extensive knowledge and experience of BS7671 Extensive knowledge, experience and SAP status for HV systems Knowledge and experience of electrical control and automation system (PLC & SCADA) A high level of personal motivation coupled with with drive and enthusiasm Excellent communication and team working skills A collaborative working style with a passion for continuous improvement Good understanding of health and safety principles and processes A sound knowledge of electrical engineering services A desire to learn, progress and develop yourself and others What’s on offer?
