As the construction industry grows, more skilled jobs become available and we now have the opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor/ Contracts Manager to work at the renowned Paul and Page. This company has been built from the ground up easily establishing itself as one of the high end property development companies around.

This particular role will include assisting the MD with land and property appraisals along with various other responsibilities.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be in charge of all costs and have the knowledge and expertise to see a project through from its inception to its conclusion.

You will need to ensure that the project(s) run smoothly and deal with any issues along the way. You will be the main port-of-call throughout the development and even after completion. You will need to understand about Paul and Page and work within the company's guidelines, concerning contracts and profitability and essentially maintaining the high standards that have previously been set. We are able to continue with our business due to the strong relationships formed between staff, contractors and clients. It is essential that these relationships are continued and respected. You must to be able to liaise with the legal department ensuring all relevant paperwork is up-to-date and correct.

You will become one of the team and will be treated as such. We have a friendly atmosphere within our company so we need the right person to come along and 'fill-the-gap'. We pride ourselves on our outstanding developments and this is only achieved when we have the right team members working together.  

All commercial aspects of the projects will be looked after by the Quantity Surveyor as will cash-flow and the production of all relevant reports such as profitability, sales, expenditures, among others.

As the  Quantity Surveyor you will essentially manage all costs relating to the project from the initial estimations to the final figures. You will either  work from our beautiful office or from site and you will be the main person seeing the project through from beginning to end.

You be required to produce all monthly status reports, accurate internal/external cash-flows for projects as well as report/monitor/forecast such things as preliminaries vs budget, manufacturing cost vs budget, installation works vs budget and design cost vs performance.

You must also organise and attend all relevant meetings on and off site.

These responsibilities are a select few.  The role of the Quantity Surveyor is an important one and needs to be undertaken by a dedicated team player. Paul and Page Developments is only as good as its team.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or construction related subject
  • Post qualification construction experience with an established sub-contractor or main contractor
