Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work with a leading Main Contractor specialising in projects ranging from £10,000 to £2.5M located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

They operate in sectors as diverse as Education, Health, Commercial, Listed buildings and Refurbishment through to Luxury Homes with a philosophy to place an emphasis on their professional management to achieve quality and customer satisfaction whilst striving to complete all projects on programme and within budget. Working at all times closely with their clients to achieve their expectations and goals.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/BSc equivalent (Desired)
  • Commercial and contractual awareness with a proven track record of success
  • A good level of competency of Microsoft packages
  • Self-motivation, passion and a driven 'can do' attitude
  • Be able to organise yourself and others workload
  • Be proactive in your approach
  • An excellent communicator
  • A high level of diplomacy and customer focused
  • The ability to anticipate problems and ensure early intervention
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with multiple clients, forms of contract and methods of measurement

The main duties for this role are;

  • Assisting with detailed breakdown of build costs for each stage of work
  • Assisting with cost and value reconciliation on all items
  • Oversee spend on in-house and sub-contract labour, and material procurement
  • Prepare Cost Value Comparison (Profit & Loss) notes
  • Various administrative duties
  • Dealing with projects from £10k to £2.5M +

My client work in the South Yorkshire and surrounding area but not exclusively so a full driving license & access to a car would be advantageous.
