Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are Chartered Design & Build contractor specialising in the design, fit out & refurbishment of commercial and industrial buildings, carrying out projects throughout London and the Home Counties The Role will include all aspects of pre-contract & post-contract quantity surveying works, reporting directly to the Commercial Director. This opportunity would suit a graduate quantity surveyor or assistant quantity surveyor from either a consultancy or main contracting background. Ongoing support and guidance will be given towards candidates who are working towards MRICS or MCIOB accreditation Responsibilities as Assistant Quantity Surveyor will include: Overseeing cost-analysis and estimating process against an agreed Schedule of Rates. Management of project financial matters. Negotiation and procurement of a sub-contract works. Negotiation and procurement of supply items. Preparation of interim valuations. Managing interim payments to sub-contractors. Regular updating and managing cash flow forecasts. Pricing and preparations of contract variations. Requirements: Over 3 years Quantity Surveying experience Experience of working for a main contractor on UK construction projects. RICS, CIOB and/or degree part or fully qualified. Knowledge of tender and subcontract account processes. Invoice and Payment collation / management Negotiation skills from a construction background Knowledge of JCT forms of contract Competitive salary is offered dependant on experience
