Trainee Surveyor

Job Description

Dutton Recruitment are currently seeking a Trainee Surveyor, working from their premises in Nottingham.

Our client is a national masonry contractor, primarily in the Bricklaying and Drywalling trades, working on some of the most exciting new-build projects in the country.

Job Duties:

  • To ensure the successful financial completion of challenging construction projects from contract award through to completion, as a key member of a successful project management team.
  • To assist the commercial team in activities within the Interserve Infrastructure Division reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Responsibilities:

Working with the commercial team in the following activities:

  • Assist the Commercial Team in various functions including financial management of subcontractor accounts, initiate payments for subcontractor accounts, maintain records of agency resource, process subcontracts to Head Office, assist in the preparation of subcontractor accounts and provide support on a range of commercial functions.
  • Responsibilities will increase over time through training and development provided by the Commercial Team and our Training Department.

Knowledge skills & experience

Essential:

  • Completion of GCSE's
  • Interest in the construction sector
  • Able to work well in a team
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

Desirable:

  • Currently working towards finalising a Construction relevant qualification (OND, HND, Degree, etc)
