Role Overview

BAK Contracts require an experienced Site Manager to start on one of our New Build Development sites in Bradford, BD6. This role will be principally responsible for a site of 51 houses, namely phase 2 of the project which consists of a total of 22 units. Once complete, there will also be scope for the role to be involved with further sites we have in Wakefield and Leeds.

Who are we?

BAK Contracts is a well-accredited building contractor responsible for award winning work across the region. We operate within various sectors including Commercial, Historical and Listed Buildings, Private Housing and New Build Developments.

Our company is currently on course to build over 200 new build units in 2019, rising to 350 units in 2020 with plans for further growth into sites across the North West and Yorkshire.

Role Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our team of qualified professionals to:

  • Comply with BAK Contracts’ policies and procedures
  • Manage day-to-day running of the site; supervising and co-ordinating staff, subcontractors, material suppliers and utility providers to assure efficiency and quality throughout our fast track build programme
  • Liaise directly with our purchasing department to ensure timely delivery of all plant and materials to site
  • Lead and motivate our teams to produce work that meets the company’s needs, monitoring their performance and addressing concerns as appropriate and in line with policy
  • Provide weekly progress reports to the company MD who you will report to directly
  • Maintain high standards of Health and Safety across sites through effective management and awareness of build programme progress

What we want from you

We are looking for the following skills, qualities and qualifications in applicants for this role:

(essential)

  • Experience of previous house building site management
  • Self-motivated with the ability to engage and motivate a workforce of varying trades
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to talk in detail about the progress against scheduled work
  • Well-rounded experience of dealing with customers and potential customers when necessary, in areas such as giving advice and resolving queries
  • In depth knowledge of construction and house building, and the relevant legislative requirements, e.g. Health and Safety, Building Regulations etc

  • CSCS card
  • Site Management/Construction Project Management/other relevant industry qualifications

What we can offer you

For the right candidate we can offer a competitive salary of between £40,000 and £50,000 dependant on their experience.

PLEASE NOTE: The duties and responsibilities in this job description ae not an exhaustive list and you will be required to meet the reasonable requests and needs of the business as appropriate. The working hours for this role are 7.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday and interviews will be held at our Head Office in Darwen, BB3.
