Job Description

We have a unique opportunity for a senior operations manager to join the business and lead our concrete operations supplying the HS2 project (Area North) The post holder will be responsible for the procurement, mobilisation, commissioning and production of multiple dedicated batching plants for the duration of the works. Reporting to the Ready Mix Managing Director, this is a key and strategically important role for Aggregate Industries and provides an exciting platform for an individual keen to show their ability to deliver while contributing to one of the UK’s largest ever infrastructure projects. About the Role The post holder effectively oversee the delivery of the HS2 Civils Area North concrete supply and will be accountable for the organisation and management of circa 40 employees across a number of plants, with responsibility for; Logistics, Operations, Commercial, and Administrative functions. Key Responsibilities include Ensure that all operations and logistics are delivered safely. Health & safety is the top priority within the organisation and all safety management systems must fully comply with Group and Legislative standards Oversee the early contractor involvement phase and drive project mobilisation Liaison with the project client and sub-contractors/advisors to ensure delivery within contract timescales Provide the ExCo and interested third parties with updates and expertise on critical issues regarding the project and implementation, including potential collaboration with other main works civils contractors Represent Aggregate Industries on all aspects of HS2 Civils (North Area) to develop strategic relationships Foster employee engagement across the team through demonstrable felt leadership and people management Build an effective partnering culture with the project client to maximise collaboration Manage the project from inception to completion and through to stabilisation and delivery of efficiencies as per the project plan ensuring that the AIUK fulfils its obligations under the contract What will you bring?
