Four Welsh local authorities have joined forces to create a £300m construction framework.

The South West Wales regional contractors framework is being procured by Carmarthenshire County Council, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, City and County of Swansea, and Pembrokeshire County Council. It is also open to other public sector organisations.

The four-year contract covers design and construction of schools and other public buildings. The work will include refurbishment and new build.

The framework has been split into three lots:

  • Lot 1 (covering the whole region), project value £12m and over, three contractors to be appointed.
  • Lot 2 (covering Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and City and County of Swansea), project value £3.5m to £12m, six contractors to be appointed.
  • Lot 3 (covering Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire), project value £3.5m to £12m, six contractors to be appointed.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 21 December.
