£70m Lancashire roads deal for Lafarge Tarmac

18 Apr 13 Lafarge Tarmac has won a highway maintenance contract with Halton and Warrington Borough Councils worth up to £70m.

The contract is valued at up to £7m a year and will run for an initial six years, with the option for a four year extension.  Lafarge Tarmac will start work for Halton Borough Council in June 2013 and with Warrington in April 2014.

The contractor will provide surfacing, emergency response and winter maintenance for both local authorities. The company already has a contract for street lighting in Halton.
